Seems like a bad idea. I don't think VR or AR is a bad idea; it's just how Meta wants to be the sole universe, taking real cash for fake cash to buy land that doesn't exist. Especially since it was announced around the time FB was dragged to DC to discuss their ethics and lack of it. I will not be surprised if Bitcoin is the currency in that world or if some other company is a type and shadow or bitcoin. Reminds me of that movie where all the super poor people who would otherwise be homeless live in that sky-rise stacks of trailers live on the web in the corporate VR game in the hopes of winning money but usually end up becoming prisoners to the company and working as slaves. Why would I want to go to a virtual reality and do all the same things in this reality? Buy land via competition? Buy clothes? Really? All that teaches you is that financial slavery (known as currency) will exist in the Metaverse.

I no longer like this setup. We do work-from-home/work remotely because we like the individualist lifestyle. We can work remote successfully by simple interactions thru messages. This is like entertaining collectivists in remote work setups. What if it's my sleeping hours and the majority wants to meet at metaverse? They should just return to traditional offices to work collectively.
I think I will not like it since it's no longer like working remotely and privately. I prefer colleagues who don't bother you too much and can finish tasks and projects simply by sending messages and emails.
